Berbasa-Basi

Discussions had and is still going on about the new flexible timetable we are doing now. I am not against it, but have some improvisation, if that can be called, to the system. For example, add 5 minutes break at each of the hour between the subjects.

For example, if the subject is two hours straight, there will be 5 minutes break between the two hours, so that the students can relax a bit before going on to the next hour. Penat juga kalau dalam satu jam sebelumnya penuh dengan lectures, kan?
And the 5 minutes break can be used for the students to proceed to the next class without taking the time of the next subject. Effective jugalah.

But starting next week, about half of the students will go out for their practicum. So, there will be more empty rooms and flexible timetable is just timetable on paper only.

And in this week, there were already two days off lectures. And we got a hell lot of classes to be relieved. (betul ke ha ayat aku ni?)

And I am now have successfully read. Recently, I already read two novels, which I found out very interesting. First one is Manikam Kalbu by Faisal Tehrani which I think is very brilliant, even the story is light, the message is somewhat touches us very much in our life. Next novel is Panggil Aku Melaju by Rahmat Haroun Hashim which is quite heavy in terms of linguistic and history. The plot is boring and slow, but as you finished the whole book, you'll find out that the story is quite interesting and open your mind in certain aspects of history and the effects of what happened in past to us.

Currently, I am reading The Spiral Staircase by Karen Armstrong, which is quite controversial but in some sense waking up our sense of thinking rather than accepting a system like we are an idiot. But as I read up her book, I quickly thought of another book entitled Cogito Allah Sum by Lalu Mohammad Zaenudin about how a man being an unbeliever and how he then starts to believe in God once again. The tagline used is 'semakin aku berfikir, semakin aku yakin bahawa Allah ada.' We have been brought up in a religion which is true, so we are in no doubt about the existence of God when we really dig in the religion. But for someone who has been brought up in Christianity for example, there are too much flaws in the religion which really makes an intellectual an atheist.

Okay, I have class in 20 minutes time. Guess I have to stop typing now.

Hari Yang Indah!!

Aku suka buat kerja. Aku suka blog tu. Walaupun isinya tak seberapa, dan tak seindah mana. Aku suka kerja yang melibatkan grafik. Well, kerja untuk mengisi masa, bukan kerja untuk mengisi poket dan perut.

Apa pun, syukur pada Allah kerana aku belajar sesuatu yang di luar lingkup bidang aku. Walau ada sedikit pun kemahiran, dan tak sehebat mana, sekurang-kurangnya aku tahu.

Sekarang ni, aku semangat nak cari dan beli buku. Buku secara maya tidak mengujakan. Seronok apa, sebelum tidur, baca buku. Ya, aku berjaya habiskan satu koleksi novel dan siri Sherlock Holmes malam tadi. Setelah entah berapa lama, akhirnya habis juga. Dan kisah yang terakhir itu sungguh tragik sebenarnya. Kisah-kisah jenayah sememangnya tragik. Say yes to CSI too!

Next in list adalah koleksi daripada Shakespeare pula. Seriously, kepala aku pusing. Aku dah baca sikit skrip King Henry the Sixth cuti baru-baru ni. Ceritanya mudah saja, tapi bila dah jadi satu skrip, ia jadi detail dan sudah pasti penggunaan Bahasa Inggeris klasik itu sukar untuk difahami.

Aku pernah ada sebuah buku cerita berkenaan Tun Perak, juga beberapa kisah lain seperti Hang Tuah dan Tun Fatimah, dalam Bahasa Melayu kuno. Aku pernah baca masa aku sekolah rendah dulu. Dan aku yakin, mak dah buang buku tu. Terlalu banyak buku seperti buku yang aku sebutkan di atas, juga buku pasca kemerdekaan yang mak aku dah buang sebab sudah buruk. Yang tinggal hanya buku Keluarga Gerilya karya Paramoedya Ananta Toer sahaja yang masih ada. Dan pada masa itu mungkin mak fikir buku-buku begini apalah gunanya dibaca oleh anak-anak yang masih kecil yang tak mungkin akan memahami?

Tapi sungguh aku sangat suka. Kalau aku boleh putar balik masa, aku akan simpan buku itu dalam peti besi (kalau ada), maka aku boleh ulang baca di masa kerinduan itu tiba.

Sayang sungguh.

Ya, misteri kehilangan buku-buku aku terjawab.

Another three series to finish. Why, I am too lazy to do all the tutorials and ISLs, but I filled up the time unusually by reading a book. My first attempt to read the 1408 pages of the whole collection was around two years ago when I bought the book. And then I stopped until the last end of year holiday. After four novels and two series from the collection, I think I need to reread them another time, because I seem to forget what the cases are. But maybe later. I want to read Shakespeare's next, which I believe that's the hardest since the language used is very old and my English is very limited.

Oh, I've become a book worm.
